A Sedalia resident has been charged with a couple of felonies in two different alleged incidents.
According to one probable-cause statement, Calvin Young reportedly admitted to distributing marijuana to staff at an assisted-living facility after substances allegedly were found on an employee of the facility on December 20, 2019.
On Tuesday, January 7, a resident reportedly woke up as he was being smothered by a pillow allegedly held to his face by Young. The alleged victim also said he was struck in the face by Young and suffered injuries. According to Young’s statement after his arrest, the reported incident was motivated by an unpaid drug deal.
Court documents say 54-year-old Young has been charged with a Class D Felony for Assault in the Third Degree- Special Victim; and a Class E Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Young was arraigned on Wednesday, January 8. His next hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
