The Concordia Board of Aldermen approved a resolution authorizing payments of bills in addition to adding Marco Technology for an annual contract of $329.30 and MFA OIL for $1,943.01 during its meeting on Tuesday, February 18.
According to meeting minutes, the board held a discussion of potential community-service projects that could offer groups and organization potential fundraising activities. It was discussed at the last meeting and concerns sent to the city attorney for his opinions. There were some reservations with the liability of the services, and the attorney addressed them all in an e-mail. Aldermen voted to approve moving forward with drafting requirements for working with community-service projects.
The board approved making fees for shelter houses per day and not per reservation; and establish two special revenue funds for non-park-related projects- completing the Main Street sidewalk by the I-70 entrance and street signs.
Aldermen also approved a request by the Concordia High School track team to put on a 5K race on March 28.
In other news, aldermen discussed a recommendation to set up a special revenue fund for the top three prioritized parks projects-Concordia Park bathroom, completion of the trail of memories path Concordia playground equipment and ADA compliance of the bandstand; and the Central Park sidewalk project. Aldermen voted to approve a motion to set up a special revenue fund for the top three projects as recommended.
