Mayor John Kehde proclaimed February 19, 2020, as “TRIO Day” for the city of Sedalia.
A news release says TRIO is a federally-funded program that provides free services to eligible students that help them complete high school, enroll in college and graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
State Fair Community College has two TRIO programs – Upward Bound (UB) which serves 50 Smith-Cotton High School students and Student Support Services (SSS) that serves 160 SFCC students.
Upward Bound students and SSS and SFCC employees were present for the proclamation signing.
