MoDOT will be doing work on Highway 65 at Rebar Road on Tuesday, February 25 and Wednesday 26.
A news release says that the northbound lane of Highway 65 at Rebar Road will be closed Tuesday and the southbound lane, at the same location, will be closed Wednesday. These temporary lane closures will allow MoDOT crews to begin installing temporary stoplights at the intersection of Highway 65 and Rebar near Nucor Steel. The work is expected to continue over the next couple of weeks so installation of temporary signals can be placed at Highway 65 and Rebar Road and Highway 65 and Routes H and HH.
As part of the signal installation, MoDOT will reduce the speed limit to 55 miles per hour from Route HH south into Sedalia.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
All work is weather dependent.
