Carroll County Memorial Hospital welcomed three new members to the Board of Directors last month.
A news release says Ben Polen, former president, served for nine years on the Board of Directors. Judith DeLany, former vice president and secretary/treasurer, served for six years on the board. Ken Brown, former secretary/treasurer, served for six years.
“Their years and dedication to CCMH and the patients we serve, will forever be appreciated,” CCMH CEO Jeff Tindle said.
“During our recent history it is has been rare to have more than one Board member retire each year. “That history has kept our board very stable and knowledgeable about the key healthcare issues. However, in 2020, we had three seasoned board members retire or have their terms limited by our by-laws. Transitioning from the board were three individuals who were all serving in officer positions with one serving as President for 2-years.”
In February, six candidates submitted qualified applications for the openings. Each candidate brought unique levels of experience. Being elected to serve three-year terms were Anna Barlow, Kim Ritchhart and Shelly Kussman.
“Each of these experienced women are or have been owners or directors of companies and have numerous years of public service on boards and committees for community, state and national organizations,” Tindle said. “CCMH may have lost some experienced hospital board members, but the expertise and experience of these three new board members will assure the continued successful direction of Carroll County Memorial Hospital and all of its entities for many years to come.”
In October 2019, CCMH welcomed a new board member. Jodi Ahnefeld joined the board replacing Charlie Lock, after an unexpected retirement, who served the Board for many years.
“Jodi brings a strong healthcare background to the board and has jumped in with both feet as a very active and participatory member,” Tindle said.
The board is comprised of Randall Barry, president; Rex Buhrmester, vice president; Jennifer Poston, secretary; Matt Lock; Jodi Ahnefeld; Jim Gibson; Shelly Kussman; Kim Ritchhart; Anna Barlow; and Dr. Timothy Reid.
“As the CEO of CCMH, I am very excited to have an opportunity to work with this board to discover how we can continue to better serve our patients and the citizens of CCMH’s service area,” Tindle said.
