The Chariton County Health Center was notified on Monday, March 30, that a fourth Chariton County resident tested positive for COVID-19.
The Chariton County Emergency Management Agency says in a news release it cannot release any information without verification from the lab where that person was tested. More information about the person will not be released in order to protect their privacy.
Symptoms of COVID-19 are a fever of 100.4 degrees F or above, cough and shortness of breath. Exposure could happen if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19; or have traveled outside the country where the virus is widespread, which at this time includes over 50 nations; and certain areas in the United States.
If you have symptoms, call your healthcare provider or the COVID-19 hotline at (877) 435-8411. You also can contact the Chariton County Health Center at (660) 631-3675 to discuss risk assessment, possible testing and to direct you to take the correct first step.
