According to the Lafayette County Officials, the order will go into effect at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow (Tues) and will continue through 11:59 p.m. Thursday, April 30, or until it is extended, rescinded, superseded or amended.
The Stay-at-Home Order is being enacted to ensure the maximum number of people stay at home to slow the spread of COVID-19 within Lafayette County while enabling essential services to continue.
According to a the Order, violation of or failure to comply with this Order is a class A misdemeanor punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both.
All Lafayette County residents are ordered to stay home. Residents may leave their home only for essential activities, essential government functions or to operate essential businesses and operations as defined by the Order. If residents must go outside, they are urged to continue to adhere to Social Distancing requirements.
