Saline County Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends face masks or face coverings be worn while you are in public to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

However, Brewer says face coverings are not recommended for small children.

As of Thursday, May 7, the health department has confirmed 213 positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 73 cases currently active. Six persons currently are hospitalized; and no deaths have been reported.
