The Cooper County Commission has extended the State of Emergency Declaration first issued on March 19, 2020.
The Declaration of Public State of Emergency that was first issued back in March by the Cooper County Commission has been extended through December 30, 2020.
On Monday, the Commission also amended the Declaration states that although a high percentage of those infected by COVID-19 will experience mild flu-like symptoms, the virus is capable of “causing severe symptoms or loss of life” particularly to high-risk individuals with underlying health conditions.
The Declaration goes on to say that “it is critical” to prepare for and respond to both suspected and confirmed cases in the County as well as implement measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
The Commission urges all Cooper County residents to continue to adhere to the guidelines set forth by Governor Mike Parson, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Cooper County Public Health Center, and the Cooper County Commission.
