A Sweet Springs man is facing a weapon-related felony after an alleged incident on Friday, May 15.
According to a Sweet Spring’s police report, the officer was dispatched to a disturbance including reports of glass breaking and an individual threatening to shoot people.
Upon arrival, the officer encountered Mark Sisco, whom he said he had dealt with earlier that night. Sisco was standing in the middle of the road in the 300 block of Locust Street and appeared to be yelling at a man on the East side of Locust Street. Sisco had a shirt in one hand and another item balled up in the other. The officer exited his patrol vehicle, drew his Taser and gave Sisco multiple commands to get on the ground. Sisco refused, fled on foot, attempted to get into the patrol vehicle, threatened to break the windows out of the patrol vehicle and took off running. Believing Sisco to be a threat to the public- having been advised that he had threatened to shoot people and having seen an item balled up in his hand- the officer deployed his Taser, which successfully struck Sisco and took him to the ground.
According to the officer, Sisco resisted several times while being placed in handcuffs and a knife fell on the ground during the scuffle. Prior to the arrival of the officer, Sisco destroyed two large glass windows in the front of the Old School Coffee Co. & Frozen Yogurt Shop. Sisco repeatedly admitted he broke the windows and said he would pay for them.
Upon receiving victim and witness statements, a person said Sisco shattered the windows with a pitchfork, assaulted him and approached him, claimed he was going to kill him and pulled a pocket knife out of his pants.
Sisco has been charged with a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon-Exhibiting. He is being held without bond.
Sisco’s initial appearance was set for 9 a.m. on Monday, May 18, at Saline County Circuit Court.
