The first case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in an area jail.
According to a release from the Saline County Sheriff Cindi Mullins, the Saline County Jail has one inmate who has tested positive for COVID-19. The inmate was isolated when they first presented with symptoms.
Testing for all inmates and employees is being scheduled through the Saline County Health Department.
For safety purposes, the sheriff’s office lobby will not be re-opening or conducting on-site inmate visitation until further notice.
