A number of races will be contested in Pettis County during the Municipal Election on Tuesday, June 2.
Three of the four seats on the Sedalia City Council are being contested. In the First Ward, Jeff Leeman is running unopposed. Running for the seat in the Second Ward are Chris Marshall and Tina Boggess; the Third Ward are Charles G. Lowe and Lucas Richardson; and the Fourth Ward are Larry Stevenson, Rhiannon M. Foster and Jeff Wimann.
Candidates for three seats on the Knob Noster R-8 School Board- a race that also will include votes from Johnson County- are Kelly Davis, Paul Bertschy, Mary Ann Matthews and Grant Jones.
Six candidates are on the ballot for three seats on the Henry County R-1 School Board: Jacob “Jake” Drenon, Mark S. Rains, Kathlene Brown, Christopher Michael Collins, Michael Eugene Daugherty and Jason Heany. Votes also will be counted from Henry County.
Three seats on the Green Ridge R-8 School Board are being sought by Barry L. White, Kenneth Ollison, Bob Stone and Shelbi Paige Noble.
Two persons- Mike Layton and John Nail- are vying for one seat on the Pettis County Ambulance District No. 2 Board.
On the ballot for two positions on the Village of Hughesville Trusree are Trena Frazier, Rose Thompson and Ruth A. Mason.
Vying for mayor in La Monte are Sherry Motley and Ronnie McNeive. And Fred A. Armstrong Jr. and David P. Wessel are running unopposed for aldermen seats.
No candidate signed up to run for the mayor nor North Ward and South Ward Aldermen in Houstonia.
Edward L. Saltsgaver and Steve A. Moore are running for East Ward Alderman in the city of Smithton.

In a race that will include votes from several area counties, running for two seats on the Junior College Board of Trustees are Justin Hubbs, Richard L. Parker, Christopher Paszkiewicz, Yvonne Clark and WyAnn Lipps.
Janeene Williams, Sherry Killion, Steve Jolly, Ben Burson and Casey Smith are vying for three seats on the Pettis County R-5 School Board. Some voters in Saline County also will cast ballots in this race.
Running for three seats on the Sweet Springs R-7 School Board are Robert “Bob” Fuehring, Thomas Trautman, Ricky J. Rennison, Martha Dohrman and Michael “Mike” Hall. Some voters in Pettis and Johnson Counties also will cast ballots in this race.
Voters in Pettis County are being asked to approve the extension of a half-cent sales tax through September 30, 2025.
Voters in the Sweet Springs R-7 School District will vote on a $2.5 million bond. If approved, the debt-service levy is to stay unchanged at 87.69 cents per $100 of real and personal property.
The Henry County R-5 School District is asking voters to approve a $3.5 million bond; and the debt-service levy is to remain at 50 cents per $100 of assessed valuation of real and personal property.
The city of La Monte is asking voters to approve a $2 million water/sewer bond.
In Windsor, voters are being asked to approve the issuance of capital-improvement sales tax bonds not to exceed $1.75 million. Most of the votes will come from Henry County.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
