Black Lives Matter is planning a peaceful rally and march this weekend in Saline County.
According to a flyer, the event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, on the square in Marshall.
The flyer says the event will stay lawful and nonviolent throughout.
Included in the event, supporters will march around the courthouse nine times, signifying the nine minutes officer Chauvin held his knee on George Floyd’s neck.
Demonstrations and speakers from the community are scheduled at the pre-march rally.
The flyer says: Bring a face mask, water and signs.

According to the Marshall Police Department, it is supporting the Black Lives Matter march on Sunday, June 7, in Marshall. The department will have officers at four intersections to ensure the safety of the pedestrians participating in the event. The release says: “We hope to see many community members at this peaceful event to ensure their voice is heard.”
