The public is invited to attend a public hearing in regards to tax abatement for a Feelz Good Green Medical Marijuana in Carrollton on Friday.
Carroll County Presiding Commissioner Stan Falke says the county is an Enhanced Enterprise Zone and with that classification, by state statute the company will receive an automatic 50-percent tax abatement for Real Estate taxes for a ten year period.
Falke went on to say that the county has the flexibility to give the remaining 50-percent, or any portion of that remaining 50-percent, if they choose to do so.

He said the abatement will not have an effect on county residents’ tax bill.

The percentage of the remaining abatement that will be awarded to the company will be determined by the commissioners after getting input from the public.
The hearing is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 12 at the Carroll County Commissioners Courtroom. Anyone who would like to participate vie conference call may do so by contacting the County Clerk’s office at 660-542-0615 and you will be given the call-in number and pin.
