Early Thursday morning Pettis County Sheriff, Kevin Bond sent out an open letter to the citizens of Pettis County. Sheriff Bond said there are some attempts to be able to cause harassment and potential damage and possibly criminal activity towards, not only Pettis County Deputies, but also other civil officers that work for county government.

The name of the deputy involved has not been released since this is an ongoing investigation.

Sheriff Bond says the actions that are being taken are based on emotion and not the facts.

Sheriff Bond says it’s important that the public knows about the tactics that are going on in the community by a small group of instigators.

He reminds residents that if they see criminal activity to not take measures into their own hands, but to contact law enforcement.
