Missouri Valley College has announced that two members of the Missouri Valley College women’s wrestling program have earned All-American recognition from the National Wrestling Coaches’ Association for their performance during the 2019-20 competition season.

Sophomore Mahealani Ramirez (Aiea, Hawaii) received first team All-American honors at 170 pounds, and Freshman Danielle Saldivar (El Paso, Texas) was an honorable mention selection, also at 170 pounds.

Ramirez was the 170 pound KCAC champion, finishing with a 20-14 record on the season.  Saldivar ended her season with a 17-14 record.  Both earned a berth into the 2020 NAIA Women’s Wrestling National Invitational, but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Missouri Valley women’s wrestling team finished its 2019-20 season ranked No. 15 in the NAIA Women’s Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll.  In May, it was announced that the Viking women’s wrestling program will join the Heart of America Athletic Conference beginning with the 2020-21 athletic year.  The program had competed in the KCAC since 2017.
