Updates on the number of total positive and active cases of COVID-19 are available in five area counties.
According to a release from Saline County Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer, the total number of cases increased from 295 on Thursday, July 2, to 298 on Friday, July 3. Four patients have died and 275 have recovered, leaving 19 active cases.
Brewer says 100-plus tests are pending.
According to the Carroll County Health Department, as of July 2, there were 14 confirmed positive cases, with 11 patients released from observation, leaving three active cases.
The latest from the Lafayette County Health Department say the department confirmed 92 total cases as of 3 p.m. on July 1. Eighty of those patients have recovered, with three deaths, leaving nine active cases.
In Cooper County, as of 8:15 p.m. on July 2, two new cases were diagnosed, bringing the total number of cases to 18.
According to the Cooper County Health Center, 12 patients have recovered, leaving six active cases. Five of the cases are travel related and 13 are through community transmission.
The Pettis County Health Center says as of 3 p.m. on July 2, the total number of positive cases was 126. However, 105 of those patients have recovered and one remains hospitalized.
