Four area residents suffered injuries in a traffic crash involving three vehicles on Independence Day in Pettis County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 19-year-old Katie Goodson, of Sedalia, failed to stop her vehicle for a red light, and her vehicle struck another southbound vehicle, driven by 53-year-old Timothy Kranz, of Lincoln. Kranz’s vehicle then struck a westbound vehicle, driven by 73-year-old Jerry Hoehns, of Sedalia.
Goodson, who was not wearing a seat belt, and Kranz each suffered moderate injuries. Passengers in Goodson’s vehicle, 25-year-old Jacob Haulcy, of Sedalia, and 26-year-old Samuel Perez, of Sedalia, each sustained minor injuries. Hoehns was not injured. All of the injured persons were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia for treatment.
The crash happened at 7:35 a.m. on U.S. Highway 65 at Route H.
According to arrest reports from the Highway Patrol, Goodson was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated and failing to stop at a stop light; and Perez was arrested on a felony warrant out of Decatur County for exploitation of a minor. Goodson was released, but Perez was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
