The total number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 increased by one on Wednesday, July 8, in Cooper County.
A news release says the total number of positive cases since the beginning of the pandemic is 25 in the county. Twelve of the patients have recovered, leaving 13 active cases. Twenty of the cases are through community transmission, and five are travel related.
Health officials encourage anyone who suspects they have COVID-19 or has been in contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 to call their healthcare provider before seeking care, unless it is a life-threatening emergency.
Health officials add that it is important that every member of the community continues to follow the CDC basic hygiene preventative measures. These measures include avoiding contact with people who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes, proper handwashing, cleaning frequently-used surfaces and staying home when you are sick.
