During the meeting of the Sweet Springs R-7 School Board on Thursday, July 9, the board approved an HVAC bid.
According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, two bids were received. The board voted to approve the bid from Home Heating & Air Conditioning Co., Inc. The bid of $122,653 is for 17 units to include hail guards and economizers; curb modifications; and thermostat controls and wiring.
In other news, three representatives of LJ Hart were in attendance to discuss two options for resolutions to be considered by the board: general-obligation bonds sold at 3-percent premium would equal $592,917 in total interest expense; and general-obligation bonds sold at 5-percent premium would equal $1,068,944 in total interest expense. The board voted to approve the resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of series 2020 general-obligation bonds sold at 3-percent premium.
The board also received one letter of interest for a board vacancy from Ricky Rennison. The board voted to appoint Rennison to fill the board vacancy until the April 2021 election.
