Increasing by nearly 1,500 positive cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases surpassed 50,000 in the state since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services as of 2 p.m. on Friday, July 31, the total number of positive cases is now 50,323- up from 48,834 on Thursday, July 30.
The number of COVID-19-related deaths increased by 10 from 1,233 on Thursday to 1,243 on Friday. However, DHSS does not report how many positive patients have recovered.
DHSS expects the next update to take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 1.
