carrollton-pickup-dropoff

With an anticipated increase of traffic in the district this year, Carrollton R-7 Superintendent, Dr. Danny DeWitt has released some helpful information to help parents and students to assist in a smooth and efficient flow of traffic for student arrival/departure from campus.

With the addition of Adams Elementary students onto the main campus for the 2020-21 school year, it has been determined that a new traffic pattern would allow for a smoother flow of traffic during drop-off and pickup times.

Traffic is discouraged from entering 9th Street via Jefferson during drop-off and pick up times. Parents need to enter the campus via Leslie Street during these times.

There will be cones placed near the elementary crosswalk to prevent elementary traffic from interfering with bus routes and high school traffic flow.

For safety, parents are being asked not to stop, park, or get out of their vehicles in the parking lot during drop-off and pick-up times. This will also help to reduce pedestrian traffic on campus during the increased traffic flow during these times.

Local law enforcement and school officials will be on hand to assist in directing traffic for the first week.

The first day of school for the Carrollton R-7 School District is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25.
