Luis Robert’s 458-foot home run capped a second five-run inning of the night for Chicago as the White Sox defeated the Kansas City Royals 11-6 Thursday night.

Robert was one of three White Sox to homer, joining Edwin Encarnacion and Tim Anderson.

Dylan Cease (5-2) picked up the win. He allowed three runs on four hits in five-plus innings. Cease only had one 1-2-3 inning, but he kept the Royals at bay.

Danny Duffy (2-3) took the loss for Kansas City. He gave up six runs- all earned- on seven hits and five walks, while striking out three.

Hunter Dozier homered for the Royals in the first inning. Alex Gordon and Nicky Lopez each doubled in a run for KC in the sixth. Lopez and Adelberto Mondesi each picked up an RBI with ground outs in the eighth.

The White Sox are scheduled to send Dane Dunning (0-0, 2.89 ERA) to the mound, while Kansas City is scheduled to counter with Brady Singer (1-3, 5.19) in the second game of the four-game series on Friday night at The K.
