Starting Wednesday, September 30 all Marshall Public School students will begin distance learning. This decision has been made due to a significant increase in the number of quarantines in the student and staff population.

According to Marshall Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Carol Maher all on-site students will attend in-person school today and Tuesday and will then move to distance learning. Athletics and activities will cease after midnight, Wednesday.

District administrators will continuously assess the situation with the Saline County Health Department and Fitzgibbon Hospital personnel. The district hopes to return to school on October 15th. The date to return to in-person learning, however, is to be determined as the district receives updated information.

Dr. Maher reinforced that it is critical that students, staff, and families wear masks and practice social distancing at all times, while distance learning is in session. If compliant with SCHD and MPS recommendations, the return to in-person learning will be hastened.
