A Deepwater man is facing couple of felony charges for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident this summer in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, on July 28, the driver of a Toyota Tacoma was pulling into his driveway when the vehicle was sideswiped by a motorcycle. The bike’s driver was ejected during the crash and shortly thereafter left the scene. The truck suffered damage from the rear bumper to the front bumper on the passenger’s side. Investigation revealed that 51-year-old Charles Shane Spellemeyer was the driver of the bike.

Spellmeyer is charged with Class E Felonies for Leaving the Scene of an Accident- Property Damage exceeding $1,000 and Driving While Revoked or Suspended; and a driving-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Spellmeyer’s arraignment is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
