Updates on COVID-19 cases were reported in five counties in the KMMO listening area on Monday, October 19.

According to health-department officials, 67 more positive cases were added in Pettis County over the weekend and on Monday, increasing its total to 1,567 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 1,108 positive patients released to normal activities as recovered and 24 deaths, there are 435 active cases, including 15 positive patients hospitalized.

Twenty-one more positive cases were added in Saline County over the weekend and on Monday, raising its total to 959. With 871 positive patients recovered and 13 deaths, there are 75 active cases, including seven positive patients hospitalized.

In Lafayette County, 13 new positive cases increased its total to 737. Health-department officials say a more detailed report is scheduled to be given on Friday, October 23.

Chariton County reported two new positive cases, increasing its total to 85. Due to 78 positive patients being released from public health isolation as recovered, seven cases remain active.

Only one new positive case was reported and 18 positive patients were removed from the active list in Howard County. With 352 of the 381 total active cases recovered and one death, 28 cases remain active.

Updates were not available from Carroll and Cooper Counties.
