Joseph Aloysius “Joe” Carroll, age 80, of Marshall, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 23, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, where Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m., with visitation to follow from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; seven children, Maureen Brown, of Los Angeles, CA, Christine Neidt (Jeff), of Lee’s Summit, Bridget Carroll, of Jefferson City, Lisa Hartwig (Matt), of Liberty, Peggy Sherman (Randy), of Marshall, Timothy Carroll, of Overland Park, KS, and Kevin Carroll, of Rayville; 11 grandchildren, Ben Hartwig, Maggie Sherman, Ellie Hartwig, Jack Neidt, Olivia Neidt, Nicholas Brown, Zoe Sherman, Hannah Brown, Caitlin Hartwig, Mimi Sherman and Sam Sherman; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Thomas A. Carroll and Ellie McCrohan Carroll; Joe was preceded in death by four brothers, John Carroll, Fr. Patrick Carroll, Tom Carroll and Maurice Carroll; one sister, Mary Frances Dessent; a son-in-law, Jeff Brown; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Malone.
