More than 450 pounds of unwanted or outdated prescription drugs were turned in by residents in Boone County this past weekend.

According to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, in all, 458.4 pounds of medications were received at several different locations. Eight boxes for 156 pounds were turned in at the VA Hospital; a partial box or one pound at the MU Student Center; three boxes for 73.8 pounds at the Ashland Police Department; two boxes for 53.8 pounds at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia; four boxes for 73.8 pounds at Hickman High School; two boxes totaling 46.8 pounds at the Hallsville Police Department; and three boxes for a total of 53.2 pounds at the Centralia Police Department.
