Two more COVID-19-related deaths were reported over the weekend in an area county.

According to health-department officials, in Pettis County, the two deaths raise the total to 26 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of positive cases rose by 59 from 1,668 to 1,727 on Monday, October 26. With 1,250 positive cases released from public health isolation as recovered and 26 deaths, there are 451 active cases, including 18 positive persons hospitalized.

In Lafayette County, 39 new positive cases were confirmed from the last time reported through Monday. That makes 829 total positive cases of COVID-19 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

There were more recoveries than new positive cases over the weekend in Saline County. Three new positive cases were added, raising the overall total to 1,006. With 20 more recoveries, increasing that number to 926, and 14 deaths, there are 66 active cases, including six persons hospitalized.

Three new positive cases were confirmed in Howard County, upping its total to 409. However, 13 more recoveries raised that total to 382. With those recoveries and one death, there are 26 active cases.

In Chariton County, two new positive cases were added and four were released from public health isolation as recovered. The county has had 94 total positive COVID-19 cases. With 88 positive patients recovered, there are six active cases in the county.
