
Two 33-year-old area residents have been charged with drug-related felonies after a reported disturbance on October 29.
According to a report from a Sedalia Police officer, he located three baggies containing methamphetamine; another plastic bag containing some marijuana; a glass pipe with white crystal residue; 27 syringes; three small plastic bags; and a digital scale.
Court documents say Derek Hughes, of Sedalia, and Samantha Batzel, of Windsor, have been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and a drug-related misdemeanor. Hughes also has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond for Hughes has been set at $35,000 and for Batzel at $25,000 cash or surety.
Each defendant was arraigned on November 2. Each defendant’s next hearing is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
