More positive COVID-19 cases were reported in area counties over the weekend.

According to health-department officials, 39 new positive cases were reported in Saline County, increasing its total to 1,632 since the beginning of the pandemic. However, there were 67 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered. With 1,404 total positive patients recovered and 17 deaths, there are 211 active cases, including 13 positive patients hospitalized.

Four new positive cases were reported on Sunday and three on Saturday in Chariton County. The seven new cases raise the county’s total to 400. With 291 positive patients recovered, there are 109 active cases.

Updates were not available from Carroll, Cooper, Howard, Lafayette and Pettis Counties.
