The Missouri Valley College women’s volleyball team has put two of its student-athletes on the 2020 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, led by Heart Co-Defender of the Year Senior Middle Hitter Allie Grelle (Torrance, Calif.).

Grelle earned her individual honor and first team selection after finishing the 2020 season as the Heart’s leader in total blocks (78) and blocks per set (1.6).  Grelle had four of the highest single-match block totals in the conference this season, including a conference-high 12 blocks in a match against Evangel (Mo.) back on Oct. 24.  Grelle also led the team and was seventh in the Heart in hitting percentage (.275) and led the team in total kills (109) and total points (156).  Nationally, Grelle ranked second in blocks per set and No. 11 in total blocks.  This is the first all-conference selection for Grelle.  She also becomes the first women’s volleyball student-athlete to be named the Heart Defender of the Year, and is the first selection to the all-conference first team since the 2017 season.

Also named to the all-conference team was Senior Defensive Specialist Brooklyn Evans (Ogden, Utah), who earned an honorable mention selection.  Evans led the team in digs per set (3.39), finished second on the team in digs (156) and third on the team in service aces (11).  In the conference, Evans finished No. 13 in digs per game and No. 20 in digs.  This is the first all-conference selection for Evans.

The Vikings women’s volleyball team finished the 2020 season with an overall record of 2-12, and a record of 1-11 in the Heart.
