Born May 30, 1941 in Marshall, he was the son of the late Rea A. Deal and Alice Ruth Hellyer Deal.  Henry was a 1959 graduate of Marshall High School, attended Missouri Valley College for one year, and then earned his degree in Animal Husbandry from the University of Missouri in Columbia.  On January 22, 1963 he married Judy Kay Eidson who survives of the home.  He was well known for playing fast pitch softball and was always “the” pitcher. Henry traveled the state of Missouri from 1963-1970 for Hunter Packing Company.  In addition to his lifelong love and work of farming, and being a cattleman and pork producer, he was as a hog buyer for M.F.A., worked at Four Square Hog Market, and Hahn & Phillips in Marshall.  Henry was well known and respected for his participation and dedication to the Missouri State Cornhusking Association and was a national champion.  One of the things that made cornhusking such a special event for Henry, was not just the competition, but the ability to help encourage young people to keep up the tradition and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Judy; he is survived by four children: Lawrance Paul Deal (Kim) of rural Marshall, Julie Schroeder (Kevin) of Liberty, Judy Luscombe (Dan) of Blackwater and Emma Schnepf (Kevin) of Boonville; twelve grandchildren: Khristopher Deal (Jessica), Sarah Manuel (Earl), Amanda Schroeder, Grace Schroeder, Jessica Wassmann (Dustin), Lawren Luscombe, Payton Luscombe, Avary Luscombe, Taylor Schnepf, Jeremy Johnson (Jessica), Crystal Johnson, Cherie Hiatt (Andrew); eight great-grandchildren: Isaac, Duke, Zeke, Corey, Emily, Landyn, Quinn and Charli; one sister, Arlene Gieselman of Saline City; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
