A Plea Hearing is set for a University of Central Missouri student who is facing a felony charge after a student died in a shooting incident more than a year ago.

On November 4, 2019, UCM’s Department of Public Safety responded to a report of an accidental discharge of a firearm at an on-campus apartment in Warrensburg, which resulted in the death of Stephon Abron, a student from St. Charles.

The investigation by authorities resulted in the arrest of Jeremy Allen Manley, of Kansas City.

Manley, who is now 25, is charged with a Class E Felony for Involuntary Manslaughter in the Second Degree. Manley posted $4,000 cash bond on November 18, 2019.

A Plea Hearing in this case is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13 at Johnson County Circuit Court.
