A 32-year-old Marshall man has been found guilty of a felony after an incident in August.

According to a Marshall Police report, on August 22, 2020, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. When officers arrived, the victim told authorities that Adam Emde began to choke her while she was holding her infant son. She says Emde slammed her and the child onto the bed while still holding her by the throat; then threw her onto the floor and struck her arm with his open hand. The victim also stated that Emde placed her in a headlock and threw her out of the bedroom into the bathroom door. The victim claimed that Emde also smashed her head into the kitchen door. When he did this, the child’s head also hit the door, causing injury.

During a Bench Trial Friday, January 15, Emde was found guilty of a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and a Class A Misdemeanor for Endangering The Welfare of a Child in the Second Degree.

Emde is scheduled to be sentenced at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 1, at Saline County Circuit Court.
