Officials at the Chariton County Health Center announced that on Thursday, January 21, and Friday, January 22, they were able to vaccinate Phase 1A population with the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

A press release says these clinics were very successful, and officials feel this is the start to vaccinating the community.

Officials say, “We had a very limited supply of vaccine, but we are hopeful that we will be receiving more vaccine soon. An order has been placed for more vaccine, but there is no guarantee we will receive the vaccine. However, we are asking you to please go on and fill out the COVID-19 Vaccination Screening and Consent form. You will need to print it out and bring it in when your appointment is set.”

Officials also want Chariton County residents to understand they are not taking appointments at this time and will announce when they are able to do so.

Officials add, “Unfortunately, we are unable to control when we receive the COVID-19 vaccine, it all depends on its availability.”
