More than 50 positive COVID-19 cases were added to Carroll County’s total since its last update on January 20.

According to health-department officials, the total on Wednesday, January 27, was 948- up from 896. The active case count has increased from 28 to 52. There have been 28 COVID-19-related deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

In Pettis County, the total jumped by 64 to 4,732 since its last update on Friday, January 22. With 68 deaths and 4,309 recoveries, there are 291 active cases, including nine positive patients hospitalized.

The overall total of positive COVID-19 cases remained at 785 in Chariton County on Wednesday. Five previously-positive cases were deemed recovered. With 731 recoveries and 18 deaths, the active case count has decreased to 36.

Updates were not available from Saline, Cooper, Howard and Lafayette Counties.
