The City of Sedalia has received a TRIM grant through the Missouri Department of Conservation for completion of a partial tree re-inventory along certain street right-of-ways on public property and City Parks and Recreation locations.

A press release says ACRT Services, Inc., the City of Sedalia’s contractor, started collection of tree data from three areas having the approximate boundaries of: 11th St. to 16th St. between S. Quincy Ave. and S. Lamine Ave.; U.S. Highway 50 (Broadway Blvd.) between S. Lamine Ave. to the eastern City limits; Liberty Park, Housel Park and Vermont Park on Friday, February 19.

The anticipated number of trees is approx. 1,950. The entire tree re-inventory data collection process should be completed by March 8. Data collected will include, but is not limited to, location, species, tree size, stems, condition, location rating, primary maintenance needs, secondary maintenance needs, risk assessment, risk rating and observations.

ACRT Services, Inc. workers will not be inventorying trees on private property and will not need to make contact with residents. However, should you be concerned about someone in your area, you can identify ACRT Services Inc. workers as they will be wearing high-visibility safety vests and will have ACRT Services, Inc. identification cards available upon request.

Any questions should be directed to the Public Works Department by calling (660) 827-3000, ext. 1166.
