Missouri experiences a wide variety of springtime severe weather, including: tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail, and flash flooding.
Statewide Severe Weather Preparedness/Awareness Week is March 1-5. The National Weather Service will use this week as an opportunity to increase awareness of and response to severe weather hazards.
Residents are encouraged to use this week to review their severe weather safety plans.
Each day next week, the National Weather Service will be highlighting a different message.
Monday: Receiving Weather Info/Making a plan
Tuesday: Tornadoes – Live Tornado Drill at 10 AM
Wednesday: Lightning
Thursday: Hail/Wind/Svr Thunderstorms
Friday: Flooding
Additionally NOAA will be making several social media posts throughout the week.
