Emma Lou Thomason, 86, of Marshall, MO, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Pastor Roger Nichols officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Neosho, MO. Face masks are required at all services, and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Marshall Animal Shelter. Born April 3, 1934, in Neosho, she was the daughter of the late John William Harris and Georgia Naramore Harris. She graduated from Goodman High School in Goodman, MO on May 10, 1951. She married her childhood love, William F. “Bill” Shelton on May 19, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark. and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1967. They had two children, Dennis E. Shelton of Phoenix, AZ and Deborah Lou Boyd of Marshall. She later married Luther E. Thomason of Lamar, MO on April 6, 1970, in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1989. They had two children, Teresa L. Splain of Severn, MD and Timothy N. Thomason of Brookfield, MO. Emma was a member of Goodman Baptist Church and later became a member of First Assembly of God in Waverly, MO. She was Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star in Anderson, MO. She had been assistant manager and cashier for Temp Stop Truck Stop in Nevada and Sedalia for a number of years until she retired in 2010. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her many dogs, bowling, George Strait concerts and the Kansas City Royals.
Survivors include her four children, Dennis Shelton, Deborah Boyd, Teresa Splain (George) and Tim Thomason; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters; and seven brothers.
