A 52-year-old, Fontana, California man was arrested late last Saturday night following a traffic stop in Cooper County.

According to the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 10:30 P.M., on Saturday, a trooper with Missouri State Highway Patrol requested the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit to respond to I-70 eastbound at the 98 Mile Marker for an exterior sniff of a vehicle during a traffic stop. Upon arrival, K9 Grimm was deployed and soon indicated a positive alert for narcotics. Authorities located nearly 76-pounds of methamphetamine inside the vehicle which has an estimated street value of approximately $1-million.

Ramon Rodriguez-Ramos is charged with a Class A Felony for Trafficking Drugs or Attempt in the First Degree. His initial appearance is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
