A 22-year-old Alma woman had to be flown from the site of a two-vehicle traffic crash in Lafayette County on Sunday, March 28.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as an eastbound Volkswagen, driven by Miriah Appleby, struck the rear end of an eastbound Holland Skid Loader, driven by 50-year-old Rex Gash, of Higginsville, as the Skid Loader was scraping dirt off the roadway.

While Gash was not injured, Appleby, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by Life Flight Eagle helicopter to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash happened at 8:25 p.m. on Missouri Highway 20, east of Peacock Road.
