Shirley S. Malan, age 85, of Miami, MO, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery. Face masks are required, and social distancing will be observed. Born April 14, 1935, in Miami, she was the daughter of the late Franklin O. Rudd and Lura Rudd. On January 1, 1954, she married Herbert E. Malan who preceded her in death on October 6, 2005. She was appointed postmaster in Miami in 1993, retiring on June 29, 2007. She was a lifelong member of Miami First Baptist Church later becoming Miami Community Church. She was a founding member of Friends of Miami and a member of Miami Lions Club.

Survivors include two children, Barry Malan (Susan) of Columbia, MO and Wilma Guilbeau of Shawnee, KS; three grandchildren, Kathryn Malan, Ryan Malan (Rachel Pruett) and Evan Guilbeau; two great-grandchildren, Mya and William Malan; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Robert and Franklin Rudd.
