Howard Woodrow Phillips, 72 of Sedalia, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home.

Howard was born June 11, 1948, in Sedalia, to the late William “Bill” Woodrow Phiilips and Emma May Phillips. He attended schools in Sedalia, graduating from Smith Cotton High School.

Howard married Sharon Kay Vansel, on October 25, 1968. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2008.

Howard worked for Rivals Manufacturing for many years. He started working there when the company opened, and he stayed until his retirement. While working there he was a leadman on the loading docks and a forklift driver.

Howard is survived by his daughter Robin Sue Blaylock and husband Steven of Sedalia, and his son Woodrow Phillips and wife Dawn of Sedalia; grandchildren Hayden Phillips, Tyler Blaylock, Jenna Blaylock and Alec Phillips; step-grandchild Jaycie Linton; one great grandchild, Aubrey Sawford; step-great grandchildren, Bryleigh, Pryse, Kaleb, Kase and Chelsea Linton.

Memorial services will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie Hayworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
