A 57-year-old Carrollton man was seriously injured in a rollover traffic crash in Benton County on Wednesday, April 21.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a southbound vehicle, driven by Robert McDowell, ran off the right side of the roadway, traveled up an embankment, became airborne, overturned, struck a guardrail and came to rest on its top.

McDowell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. A 6-year-old boy, of Carrollton, was transported by Warsaw-Lincoln ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia for treatment of minor injuries.

The crash happened at 2 p.m. on U.S. Highway 65, just south of Route T.
