Human remains found in Cooper County the middle of last month have been positively identified.

On April 30, the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office notified the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office and the Cooper County Coroner’s Office that the remains found west of Boonville on April 15 were positively identified as 42-year-old Andrew Sercu, of Boonville.

Sercu was previously reported missing to the Boonville Police Department.

At this time, no cause of death has been determined. Next of kin has been notified.

The investigation by all agencies involved continues.

There is no further information to release at this time.
