Maribeth Bales, age 61, of Higginsville and formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Graveside services honoring Maribeth’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, with Chaplain Dale Felder officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Higginsville Habilitation Center in care of Carr-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 210, Fayette, MO 65248.

Maribeth was born in Marshall, MO on August 29, 1959 a daughter of John Bales, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Ramey Bales.  Maribeth liked to laugh, play with cards, listen to country western music and always liked her short sleeve shirts.  Her favorite drink was coffee and she liked her franks and beans.  

Survivors include three sisters, Beverly Dometrorch of Fayette, Ruby Bales of Marshall and Janet Whitney of Stover; a brother, Jeff Bales of Houstonia and several nieces and nephews.  Maribeth is also survived by her caregivers and friends at Higginsville Habilitation Center where she had been cared for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, John Bales, Jr.
