A 22-year-old Waverly woman suffered serious injuries in a rollover traffic crash in Lafayette County on Friday, July 2.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as Brenda Butler overcorrected her westbound vehicle, which had traveled off the right side of the roadway; and the vehicle began to skid, traveled off the roadway, returned to the roadway and overturned.

Butler, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment.

The crash happened at 2:02 p.m. on U.S. Highway 24, west of Ketner Road.
