Pia Carter, of Sedalia, was arrested earlier this month in connection with reported thefts in Pettis County.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, on Thursday, July 8, police officers and detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of East Johnson Street. This search warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into ongoing thefts which had been occurring at Walmart at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard since May 2021.

During the execution of the search warrant, evidence was obtained that, coupled with the investigation, led to 53-year-old Carter’s arrest

Court documents say Carter is charged with a Class B Felony for First-Degree Burglary and a Class D Felony for Stealing of $750 or More. Carter posted $10,000 surety bond on July 13.
