A Benton County man charged with murder has a court proceeding set for Tuesday, July 27.

According to authorities, 28-year-old Lance M. Lyman, of Warsaw, was shot and died at the Warsaw Ambulance Base before he could be life-flighted on July 18. An investigation led authorities to arrest 24-year-old John Moreno, of Warsaw.

Court documents say Moreno is charged with murder in the second degree, two counts of armed criminal action and assault in the first degree. Moreno is being held with no bond at Benton County Jail.

Moreno entered a not-guilty plea during his arraignment hearing on July 20.

His next hearing is scheduled to be held at 8 a.m. at Benton County Circuit Court.
